3 Layer Chocolate Cake

1: Preheat the oven to 350°.

2: Grease three 9” cake pans with butter and line the bottom with parchment paper.

3: In a mixing bowl, add the 2 boxes of cake mix, water, melted butter, and eggs.

4: Mix together until the cake batter is smooth without clumps.

5: Divide the batter evenly amongst the 3 cake pans and bake according to the package for a 9” cake pan.

6: Let the cakes cool for 5 minutes then flip them out of the pans and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.

7: To frost, add a generous dollop of frosting into the center of the first cake layer and spread it out.

8: Add the 2nd layer and repeat the frosting steps.

9: Add the 3rd layer and repeat the frosting steps.

10: Use a butter knife to add frosting vertically to the sides of the cake.
